Album, 8vo: ms. title, 29 engr. ± 11,5 x 8 cm, glued on top on strong paper lvs, pencil captions in French under the engravings.
Contemp. floral paper cased binding with sm. flaps, red leather title-label on spine.
Includes, in late printing: 2 complete suites, "The Passion of Jesus Christ" (14 engr.), copied from the originals by J.H. Muller, - "The Apostles" (14 engr.), engraved in counterpart (except Jesus carrying a globe) and "L'Espiègle", Amand-Durand heliogravure (mark on verso). An autograph title by the collector, dated "Biblioth. de Parays (Lot et Garonne), juillet 1895" and signed Alidor Delzant, gives a detailed description of the pieces and references to Bartsch (which also appear in the ms. captions). With 2 suppl. Amand-Durand heliogr., loose.
Prov. Alidor Delzant (1848-1905), lawyer in Paris, writer, collector and bibliophile, friend and executor of the Goncourts' will (bookpl. signed Loviot; ms. entry).
