Description du lot
Folio.
Loose. Kept in a publ. grey cloth porfolio.
Rare documentary publication on the realisation process of Chuck Close's first print "Keith", a mezzotint. Composed of descriptive text by the printer Kathan Brown and 10 photographic etching plates illustrating the different stages by Ron Greenberg after photos taken by him and Brown. The project "Keith" came at the instigation of Robert Feldman, publisher of the Parasol Press, who sent Close to K. Brown, printer of the Crown Point Press. The technique chosen (i.e. the mezzotint) and the large dimension of the project ("three by four feet at the minimum") were a real challenge for Close and Brown. Limited issue "for the participants" to 20 copies, the 10 first being nominative (n. 12).
