3 vol., 8vo: [4]-cviii-385, [4]-iii-[1 bl.]-408, [4]-iii-[1 bl.]-435 pp.; 1 fold. table (foxing, much to some pp., marg. damp stain and ink stain in vol. I, upper margin gnawed at some ff. in vol. I, light dampstaining throughout vol. III and marg. stain to some ff., sm. wormtracks/holes in upper margin of vol. III).
Contemp. three-quarter green calf, marbled paper covers, gilt ruled orn. spines, browned spr. edges (rubbed).
5th ed. (1st: 1803), augmented with 1 volume, of the main work of J.-B. Say (1767-1832), a French economist and businessman, who held classically liberal views and actively supported competition, free trade, and the lifting of business restraints. He is primarily remembered for Say’s Law: "that supply creates its own demand". With 1 folding table ("Tableau pour indiquer la marche des valeurs dans les emprunts publics").
