Contemp. overl. vellum, flat spine (stains, spine darkened, corners repaired, flylvs margins repaired).
Rare first edition of the history of Louis XIII's reign by the French historian Dupleix (1569-1661), who was named "historiographe du roi" in 1619 by the same Louis XIII. Illustrated with the King's portrait copper-engraved and a title-vignette. Title in red & black.
