Extraordinary map, based on the maps of Nolin, Witsen, de Fer and Delisle, published by Covens and Mortier (2nd state). The world is depicted in double hemispheres, carried by four atlas figures representing the four seasons. Below the hemispheres, fragments of the Genesis creation narrative are depicted with in the middle God creating the sun and the moon. Above the double hemispheres, another small double hemispheres celestial map in the center with the North Pole and the South Pole in the corners. 7 more finely engr.
