Contemp. mottled sheep, gilt-orn. flat spine, red edges (front joint split, head missing, corners bumped, stain on back cover).

Later edition (1st 1709) of the first treatise on canary breeding by the French naturalist J.-C. Hervieux de Chanteloup (1683-1747). Illustrated with a front. (birdcages) and 4 pl. (musical scores showing melodies that may be taught to birds).
