Rare first edition of an essay by the Brabant historian Miraeus (1573-1640) on the origins of chivalric military orders (e.g. St. John of Jerusalem, the Teutonic Knights, the Knights Templars, etc.). Woodcut on title. Copy containing 6 blank ff. in begin. and 38 at end.
