By the demonologist Henri Boguet (1550-1619), lawyer and jurist, who ruled in Franche-Comté as grand judge of Saint-Claude, and was called "brûleur féroce" due to his hunt on witches. His works have long been used as a code of torture to persecute unfortunate people accused of witchcraft. A double legend claims that, like Nicolas Rémy, Boguet ended up at the stake and that his family bought most of the copies of his "Discours" on the sly.
