8 etchings, ca. 40 x 54 cm, laid paper, without signature or address, inscriptions and occasional titles in the lower margin of each print (browned, often unevenly, creases, tears, stains).
Under passe-partout and frame (not studied outside frame).
8 numbered etchings from a series of 9 (without n. 5). The series depicts the entry of Holy Roman Emperor Leopold I (1640-1705) and the celebrations in Brussels after his victory over the Turks in the Siege of Buda in 1686. The following scenes are included: 1. Title plate with an allegory of the victories of Leopold I ("DIVO et INVICTISSIMO LEOPOLDO I.") (wormholes). - 2. Celebrations on the Petit Sablon (small parts missing at top left, right and bottom right). - 3. Preparations in the palace courtyard (wormholes). - 4. Celebrations on the Grand Sablon (parts missing at top and bottom right). - 6. Fireworks on the Grand Sablon ("IGNIUM NOCTURNA HILARIA"). - 7. Celebrations in the palace garden (small part missing at bottom right). - 8. Celebrations in the palace courtyard. - 9. Fireworks in the palace courtyard ("Castrum Triumphi Lucens et Ardens.") (small parts missing at bottom left and right).
