First issue complete of the 52 hand-coloured lithographed plates, partly heightened with gum arabic. Without the vol. of text published in 1847. The British naturalist Goss (1810-1888) sailed to Jamaica in 1844 where he worked as professional collector for the dealer Hugh Cuming.
