Folio: [18]-[2 bl.]-726 (= 728)-62-[24] pp. (lacking last blank, worming in fore-edge margin of first 100 ff., occasional foxing).
Cont. blind-stamped pigskin, covers ruled with fillets, large ornamental roll-stamps (one figuring scenes of Christ's life) and decorated with tools, spine on raised bands (rubbed, some scratches, two restaurations to lower cover).
First edition of the commentary on Psalms by Victorinus Strigel (1524-1569), Philippist Lutheran theologian, rector of the University of Jena. Text decorated with ornamental initials, printer's mark on title-page and with a woodcut on reverse of last leaf. Ref.
