Beschrijving lot
Obl. 4to, 12 engr., 19,5 x 24,5 cm.
19th-c. marbled calf, attr. to De Samblanx, triple gilt fillet on the boards, gilt decorated spine with raised bands, red leather title label, inside gilt dentelle (corners and spine sl. rubbed, some sm. pieces of green leather pasted on the front board). Nice copy, with large margins.
Complete series incl. the title and 11 nice engravings, 6 by Richard van Orley and 5 by A. Coppens, all after drawings by A. Coppens showing Brussels after the bombardment by French troops led by the maréchal de Villeroy on August 13, 14 and 15, 1695. Nice binding in 17th-century style, attributed to Charles De Samblanx (ms. note).
