Precious testimony on the economic situation of the Waasland at the end of the Austrian domination of the Low Countries. The Waasland - also called Land of Waas - was a castellany of the county of Flanders created in the middle of the 13th century and remained in force until the end of the eighteenth century, at the beginning of the French occupation in 1795.
