Cont. calf (lower flyleaf cut out), gilt orn. spine on 5 raised bands (joints sl. rubbed). Good copy.
3rd ed. of this Dutch trsl., ascribed to the Amsterdam Jesuit Fr. van Susteren (1658-1728), of an emblematic work (1st Florence 1686) by the Italian Jesuit Pinamonti (1632-1703). Ill. with 22 full-page engr. emblems, derived from those of Boetius a Bolswert for H. Hugo's "Pia desideria". Title within engr. architectural border. Name on title "suster p. de wit".
