335-[1 bl.] pp. (sm. loss of paper in 1st quire repaired with loss of 2 letters on title, some dampstaining at lower part) [bound with] ID. - Seven meditatien op den Lof-sanck Salve Regina. Ibid., 1590. 79-[1] pp. 2 works in 1 vol., 8vo.
Contemp. calf (some sm. def., corners bumped), covers with gilt central oval IHS stamp within gilt-ruled frame, spine with 4 raised bands (some def., tail repaired, endpapers lacking), a.e.g.
Rare Dutch trsl. of two interrelated devotional works by the Brabant Jesuit Fr. Costerus (1532-1619), earlier published in Latin by Chr. Plantin in 1587. The “Vijftich meditatien” were published in 2 issues. This copy belongs to the illustrated issue with 49 (of 50) nice, numbered full-page engravings by Petrus vander Borcht (Hollstein III:1144-1193). The 2nd part has 7 numb. full-page engr. plates (not mentioned in Imhof, after the suite by the Wierix brothers?). Woodcut ill. on titles. Gothic type.
