Only known engraving by Cornelius Bellekin or Belkin (1625-1711), son of the well-known artisan of mother-of-pearl work Jean Bellekin from Amsterdam. Extracted from Jean Carpentier's "Histoire généalogique des Pais-Bas ou Histoire de Cambray et du Cambresis [...]". The scene features the States Provincial of Cambrai, an assembly of the three estates of the province, possessing certain political and administrative functions, of which the main one was to vote on taxes.
Joined: [Chauveau, François] - Table du cry de guerre et de la devise. Par Vulson de la Colombière (Paris, P. Mariette, [1645]). Engraving, 44 x 57 cm (underlaid, left and right margins expertly renewed). Table with family battle cries (proclama) of the lineages and their heraldic devices by Fr. Chauveau (1613-1676) after Stefano della Bella (1610-1664) featuring 16 knights on horseback, all depicted with their weapons and distinctive heraldry. Extracted from Vulson de la Colombière's "Carte métodique et introduction succinte à la cognoissance des premières regles du blazon et des principales pieces qu'on employe pour la construction des armoiries [...]."
