Contemp. calf, gilt spine with 5 raised bands, leather title label, red edges (rubbed, worn and used).

Second edition (1st 1626) of this excellent impartial historiographical report of grosso modo the second half of the 16th c. by senior officer Van Reyd (1550-1602). Decorated with an engraved title, a beautiful portrait of the author by J. Muller after J.J. Pontanus and 24 in-text engr. depicting all important figures related to Dutch history.
