Beautiful and interesting made-up volume. Contains i.a. 72 hand-coloured stipple engravings from A. von Humboldt's "Monographie des Mélastomacées" engraved by Bouquet after Poiteau and Turpin : 40 with the "Melastomaceae" as subject matter and 32 with the "Rexiae". The remaining 10 plates by Augustin, Rebel, Plée, Didier, Gabriel, Robert and Conis after Poiteau and Turpin originate from several other botanical works such as "Mimoses" by von Humboldt, "Histoire naturelle des orangers" by A.
