Cont. gold-tooled crimson morocco, covers with large gilt rectangular frame with gilt corner pcs, gilt spine on 4 raised bands, gilt sides, a.e.g., marbl. endpapers (sl. rubbed, head and tail def., corners sl. bumped). Good copy.

A reply by the Scottish philosopher, historian and Bishop of Salisbury G. Burnet (1643-1715) to a similar work on the Church of England by John Keynes (1625-1697). Stocklist at the end.
