Re-edition of this work with a preface of Philippe Melanchton illustrated with 2 fold. tables of which one with elipses. The text is decorated with woodcut astronomical figures and includes a section dealing with the calendar entitled "De anni ratione, seu ut vocatur vulgo, Computus ecclesiasticus [...], anno 1558", with emphasis on leap years, lunar months, "embolismali" years, moveable feasts etc. The work was printed in the city where Luther asserted his authority against that of Rome and where Melanchthon (1497-1560) became friends with the theologian.
