Contemp. overl. limp vellum, flat spine (rest of leather on spine).
Second de Tournes edition, after the Lyon ed. of 1552, of Guillaume Philander's annotations on one of the major treatises on architecture. Illustrated with a medallion portrait of Philander, woodcut in-text ill. by Bernard Salomon, a fold. epigraphical plate and title within architectural frame. Commentary in italics; some dotted initials and de Tournes' mark at end. "Epitome onnium Georgii Agricolae de Mensuris et ponderibus libros" also by Philander at end. Some ms. annotations.
