Account (1st publ. in 1687) of Dellon's imprisonment by the Portuguese Inquisition in Goa, Daman and later in Brazil and Lisbon. He was condemned to death at the stake but his sentence was commuted to 5 years in the galleys. With the help of Bossuet, he was sent back to France before the end of the 5 years. Ill. with a front. and 8 pl., of which 3 fold., representing judgement and penance scenes. Title in red and black.
