Wooden Brewster stereoscope with open back, mirror door and unfolding lens board. 49 stereoscopic images, mounted on multicolour cardboard.
Lenticular Brewster stereoscope, the singular most popular design of stereoscope from 1851 until the 1930’s. During this time its basic design changed very little. Included are 49 stereograms from different series showing Paris, Germany, interiors, monuments, the International Exhibition of 1862, Italy, England, craftsmen at work, scenes from a theater play (?), Philippines, glaciers, hot air balloons, etc.
