Mod. dark blue jansenist morocco signed Godillot, gilt titled spine on 5 raised bands, gilt sides, gilt interior dentelles & dotted border, marbl. endpapers, a.e.g., slipcase. Nice well-preserved copy.

Beautiful example of a printed French Book of Hours, with an almanac for 21 years (1508-1528). Some ills with French verses "huitains" underneath. Gothic type. Woodcut ills : title within elaborate border, incorporating Vostres device, text pages within elaborate border illustrating the seasons, pastimes, Dance of Death etc., 25 full-page plates; numerous smaller woodcuts within large borders, incl. the famous anatomical woodcut (a2r).
