Folio: front.-32 pp.; 6 pl. (ink staining on title, tear in 1st pl. without lack, tears in folds of pl. I, strengthening pcs on pl. 2 & 4).
Contemp. mottled sheep, gilt-orn. spine with raised bands (rubbed, stronger on lower board).
Fête book illustrating the Inauguration in Ghent of Charles VI (1685-1740), Holy Roman Emperor, as Count of Flanders in 1717. With an allegorical frontispiece and 6 large engr. pl. by/after M. Heylbrouck, J.B. van Volxsom, J. Harrewijn, J.B. Berterham and C. Eykens. Picturing the solemn ceremony at St Bavo's Cathedral, the ceremony was conducted on an elaborate theatre stage at the Vrijdagmarkt, a triumphal arch, night-illuminations and fireworks in the city. Title in red and black with wood engr. arms.
