Contemp. half sheep, sp. paper on covers, flat gilt-orn. spines (corners, joints, heads and tails sl. rubbed).

Later, mixed ed. (1st 1779-1796) of this great classic on the geology of the Mont Blanc and the Alps by the naturalist de Saussure (1740-1799). Ill. with 2 maps and 21 engr. pl. of which some folding showing glaciers, mountains, rocks, etc.
