13 parts in 1 vol., 4to: [16]-120, [20]-32, [4]-15-[7], [2]-200 (of 202)-[10], [2]-36, [8]-175-[1 bl.], [16]-289-[7], [16]-76, [4]-32, [6]-26, [6]-26, [2]-10, [4]-70-[2] pp. (front flyleaf and f. B4 of "Houwelick" missing, a few sm. repairs in lower blank margin, some minor staining or soiling, sl. browning).

Contemp. marbled calf, gilt spine with raised bands (sl. rubbed, corners sl. bumped).

Collected works (1st 1655) of the Dutch statesman and poet Jacob Cats (1577-1660). Engr. ill.: title with author's portrait, part titles or titles with ill. after A. Van de Venne, more than 100 ill. or emblems. Contains i.a. "Galathea", "Spiegel van den ouden en nieuwen tijdt", "Self-stryt", "Houwelick" (1658), "Buyten leven op Zorgvliet" (Utrecht, H. Specht, 1658), etc.
