Contemp. limp overl. vellum (ms. notes on front cover, some wormholes), flat spine (def.).

Extr. rare first edition by the Italian polymath and one of the most influential mathematicians of the Renaissance, Gerolamo Cardano (1501-1576). Early work on etiology: the study of causation or origination. In this case, more specifically on the influence of water and environment on the development of certain diseases. Printed in roman and italic.
