Third ed. (1st 1914) of this vivid account of the more unusual aspects of Japanese night-life, incl. geisha, fireworks, variety halls, public baths, amateur wrestling... Ill. with col. frontisp. and many b/w ill. out of text. The text was translated quite literally from the orig. Japanese ms., because "revision would have destroyed much of its quaint charm and oriental atmosphere" (preface). Bookseller's ticket on front endpaper. Joined: Chamberlain, B.
