First Antwerp edition (1st French ed.: Lausanne 1577) of this book by the theologian and classicist Simmler (1530-1576), dealing with political and juridical organisations of Switzerland, but also with important battles and victories from the Emperor Raoul of Habsburg until Charles V. Illustrated with a full-page woodcut figuring 3 important characters for Switzerland: Arnold von Melchtal of Unterwalden, Werner Stauffacher and William Tell bordered with the cantons arms.
