Second edition of this commemorative work (1st ed. 1623 by Mommaert) on the funeral rites for Albert VII, Archduke of Austria (1559-1621), governor of the Spanish Netherlands. Text in Latin, French, Dutch and Spanish by the humanistic historian Puteanus (1574-1646). Illustrated with the engr. title on double page (always dated 1623), 65 plates on double page except 2 fold. by Cornelis Galle, after Jacques Francquart, depicting the funeral procession, the carriage, the coffin and the 675 nobles and magistrates, all provided with name and title, participating in the procession. This later ed. also includes an engr. of the catafalque erected for Isabella, Albert II’s widow, not yet included in first ed.
