2 parts in 1 vol., 4to: viii-167-242 pp. (some wormtracks in last quires, some occ. spotting and few ff. sl. soiled).
Contemp. sheep, gilt-orn. spine with raised bands (joints rubbed and starting to split, head missing and tail sl. damaged, corners bumped).
First, posthumous, edition of this rare chronical of Ostend by Bowens (1729-1787), chronicler, alderman and adviser to the prince of Thurn and Taxis. Bowens extensively describes the Siege of Ostend (1601-1604) and the Ostend Company. Ill. with 5 plans depicting Ostend in 1123, 1583, 1601, 1740 and 1791, engr. by Wauters after De Vos.
