Study on Roman gladiators (1st 1582, without ill.), in the form of a series of dialogues between J. Lipsius, Victor Giselinus, Janus Lernutius, Janus Dousa sr. and Stephanus W. Pighius. Printed in Leiden. Ill. with 3 fold. and 12 full-page engr. pl. in the style of P. v.d. Borcht or Otto van Veen. "The ills. have stylistical affinities with the work of Pieter van der Borcht [...]. It is not impossible, however, that they have been realized in Holland, by a local artist" (Voet).
