Elzevier edition of the translation by P. Du Ryer of the famous Catholic version of the Dutch Revolt by the Italian Jesuit F. Strada (1572-1649). Ill. with a full-page portrait of Charles V and 12 in-text portraits. Title in red and black, with the famous printer's mark "le Solitaire". Only first vol. present (second vol. published in 1652).
