3 parts in 1 vol., folio: CCLXVIII, XCV-[1], CCCCCC-[14] pp. (missing 4 ff.: a1 [= title], a2, N8, †8; cut short at top, dampstaining at bottom of final quires, a6v-b1r stained, some worming at top of quires DD-end, large part of C5 cut out with loss of text, holes in †7 touching ill.).
19th-c. gold-tooled marbled calf, gilt-orn. border on covers, gilt spine with raised bands and morocco label, a.e.g. (rubbed, front joint split, head and tail def.). In all a good copy.
Important edition of Virgil (incl. Appendix Virgiliana and M. Vegio’s Bk 13 of the Aeneid) with commentaries by i.a. Servius, Donatus, Chr. Landino, D. Calderini, J. Badius etc. Over 200 large woodcuts, that first appeared in the Grüninger Strasbourg edition of 1502.
