Ref. Chossonnery, A.; Boulland, G. - Cat. de livres anciens et modernes [...] concernant principalement la Bourgogne [...]. Paris, 1885, n. 1194/4 (same ex-dono, probably our copy). - Cp. Brunet III:619-6221.
Prov. Jesuit college of Chalon-sur-Saône, prize binding with the ex-dono of Claude Tisserand de Chalange, Prior of the Benedictine abbey of Saint-Pierre. The one in our copy is quite uncommon: instead of the usual laurel-crowned ex-dono accompanied by two small shields (France and Chalon-sur-Saône), it includes the large coat of arms of the King of France and two shields with arms of the city and of the donator, all surrounded by the words "Ex dono Claudi Tisserand Prioris S. Petri Cabilon" and the date 1627 below (supralibros; ref. Olivier 1578: variant not ill.). - Haume 1793 (ms. entry). - Balouzet 1793 (id.). - Amaury de Ghellinck d'Elseghem Vaernewyck (arm. bookpl. "Bibliotheca Elseghemensis", lithogr. by N. Heins at Ghent). - Sold by Sotheby's London in 1925, then acquired in 1970 by Michel Wittock who gave it as a gift to Xavier de Ghellinck Vernewyck (typed note signed "X.G.V.").
