Contemp. vellum, flat spine (sl. soiled, back inner joint loosening). Good copy.

Rare first edition of this satirical work by the Dordrecht preacher Jacobus Lydius (1610-1679). Engr. ill.: front. and 5 full-page pl. by S. van Hoogstraten. Lydius found a great opponent in the Antwerp Jesuit C. Hazart, against who he wrote i.a. "Den Antwerpschen uyl in doodsnood" (1671) and "Het overlijden van den Antwerpschen uyl" (1672). Printed in Gothic and roman type.
