Old polished calf, richly gilt spine on 6 raised bands, gilt sides, red edges, marbled endpapers, green silk marker (sl. rubbed, joints splitting but firm, head and tail def., corners bumped, marker loose). Very good copy.

1st ed. of the major work of the Brabant Jesuit Lessius (1554-1623): a commentary on Thomas Aquinas’ views of "justice", including an essay on the ethics of economics. Engr. title.
