Later edition of this translation of "Briefe eines reisenden Französen über Deutschland" (1st 1783, 1st trsl. 1787), after the English version of Paul Henri Maty. Complete with the fold. map of Germany in the 1st vol. In epistolary form and allegedly written by a Frenchman (while Riesbeck (1754-1786) was German), the work delivers a lively and interesting picture of Austria-Hungary and Prussia in their political, social and cultural aspects.
