12mo: 171-[8] pp.; 2 pl. (some very marginal soiling).
Contemp. blue paper sewn (rests of label, ms. mention). Untrimmed copy.
Brussels counterfeit, uncommon, of the second Paris edition, published the same year, with the same collation, imitating perfectly the printing composition and the figures. Ill. (complete) with the front. (copied from Giraud) and the fold. map ("Carte allégorique du Voyage de la jeunesse au pays du Bonheur"). English and French printed on facing pages throughout. This conduct book for young women attributed to Gillet, lecturer on philosophy, and first published in 1796 as "The Pleasures of Reason" with the French text following the English. It is not clear what connection Auguste-Jacques Lemierre d’Argy has with the work, despite his name on the title-page.
