Lot description

Engraving, 18,5 x 12 cm, laid paper, signed in the plate with the Dürer-monogram in the plaque at upper left (trimmed along the platemark with small margin).

Under passe-partout.

Anonymous copy after Dürer's spellbinding original. Small differences to the original are the wider dimensions of window extension at the upper left, and the less certain handling of the monogram. Very clean and good impression.
Ref. Meder 2 (copy). - Bartsch 2 (copy).
Joined: Hopfer, Hieronymus - Twenty-four coats of arms. Etching, 20,5 x 27,3 cm, velin paper, signed in the plate with monogram "IH". An impression from a scratched second state (of 2) with Funck-number 61, probably from Carl Wilhelm Silberberg's "Opera Hopferiana" (1802). Ref. German Hollstein X:81.2. (2 pcs)
