Lot description
Latin manuscript on paper, c. 20,5 x 16 cm : [2]-301-[1] pp. (incl. blanks at beginning, 267-270, 291-302; lacking pp. 259-266), written in black/brown ink, music on four-line staves, rubricated.
Cont. sheep (worn, sl. loosening, front top corner def., hole in spine, lower endpaper lifted), spine on 5 raised bands. In good condition (toned).
Nice liturgical music manuscript, probably from a Dutch-language female Franciscan convent: “Als desen dagh op den sondagh niet en komt in plaetse van Alleluia singt men Tractus effuderunt” (p. 19), “Eerw. Moeder” (p. 77), “Nu speelt de orgele(n)” (p. 79), “Als iemand gecleijt wort sonder musieck” (p. 211), “Als een Susterken haer Iubilie hout” (p. 212), “Corte Misse van D’ordre” (p. 289), and “... cantatrices intonabu(n)t ...” (p. 53). Franciscan saints: “In Festo S. Antonii de Padua” (p. 176), “In Festo S. Petre (!) de Alcantara” (p. 198). Prov. On front flyleaf “Notre Dame de Bastogne” (19th-c. inscription).
