8vo: [1-1 bl.-8]-294 pp. (toned, cut short occ. shaving fore-edge margin, old repair to bottom corner D7, hole in blank top corner F1).
Old vellum, flat spine (sl. soiled).
Amsterdam repr. of the famous collection of Dutch verses by poets from Zeeland, 1st publ. Middelburg 1623. Main contributors were Jacob Cats (1577-1660) and the poet and artist Adriaan van de Venne (1589-1662), who added his satirical "Tafereel van Sinne-mal". 2 full-page and 15 half-page engravings after Van de Venne. Woodcut mark on title and part-title. Printed in roman and Gothic type.
