Revised, 2nd enlarged edition (1st ed.: 1750) of the most advanced textbook for beginners written in the 18th century. Th. Simpson (1710–1761), the son of a weaver, was an autodidact in arithmetic, algebra and almanac geometry. With numerous in-text diagrams.
