Contemp. black galuchat on wooden boards framed with a blind fillet, 2 chiselled corners decorated with a stylised flower, 1 clasp with large plates decorated likewise, engr. provenance mark on the strap, hallmark, five raised bands on spine, all edges chiselled and gilt (lack of leather on the upper board and turn-ins, spine sl. incurved).

Very popular devotion book, often re-edited in the 18th and 19th centuries. Approbations dated Gent, 1740 and 1753.
