Beschrijving lot

1. La Sainte Bible, qui contient le Vieux et le Nouveau Testament. Amst., Z. Chatelain & fils, Arkstée & Merkus, Marc Michel Rey, 1770. 12mo: [1130]-269 pp. (f. A1 missing, sm. stains throughout). Gilt fillets on the left border, large embossed and metal frame on the other ones, decorated with flower and palm designs, two matching clasps, five raised bands on spine decorated with gilt fillets, all edges chiselled and gilt (sl. cracking on spine, first lvs partly disbound). Work divided in 3 pts (Old Test., New Test., Psalms) with their own title-page decorated with a vignette (each different) engr. by Noach van der Meer. Psalms in the version approved by the "Synode walon [sic] des Provinces-Unies", with music scores. Ref. Bibles imprimées du XVe au XVIIIe siècle conservées à Paris, num. 568, 2780. - STCN. - Not in Darlow & Moule. Prov. A.M. Maas (ms. mention).
2. Geistliche Sonnenblum, das ist Kurze tägliche Besuchungen des allerheiligsten Sakrament des Altars [...]. Augsburg, J. Wolff, 1802. 12mo: [6]-396-[6] pp. (foxing). Wooden boards decorated with a gilt dentelle, central oval embossed plate with engraved provenance marks in a laurel crown, two clasps decorated with embossed floral designs, flat spine with gilt decoration, all edges chiselled and gilt (corners sl. used, sm. scratches). Frontisp. engr. by Melchior Gutwein. Ref. KVK (German, Austrian, Swiss, French and Belgian online cat.): only 2 copies (München and Augsburg). Prov. Maria Elisabeth Ducrue, born Bacciochi (upper plate); souvenir of the birth of a child: "Anno 1802/ den 5 May Fruh/ 2 Uhr ist Gebohren/ Elisabetha maria/ Ana Theresia/ Diedrichen" (lower plate).
3. Himmlischer Palmgarten [...]. Strasbourg, L. Fr. Le Roux, [ca. 1829]. 16mo: 400 pp. (some stains). Wooden boards decorated with a gilt roll and fillets frame, central gilt diamond-shape frame made with a Greek fillet and a sm. fleuron on the upper and lower angles, central gilt emblematic tool (God's eye, lyre with cross and torch interwined, palm and foliage), embossed silver frame decorated with a frieze of foliated scrolls and a bouquet of flowers in the corners, two matching clasps with floral designs, flat spine with elaborate gilt decoration, a.e.g. (sl. rubbing, some sm. scratches). Prayer book by an anonymous priest of the Society of Jesus. Woodcut frontisp. by Durouchail. Printed in a fillets frame. Ref. KVK (idem): only 1 copy at the same address, date estimated ca 1837 (Metropolitankapitel Bamberg). - Not in DBS.
