8vo: 303-[3] ff. (first quire missing, clear water stain throughout, verso p. LXXIX marginally spotted, ff. 1-3 with sm. marginal wormholes, occ. contemp. ms. annot.).

17th-c. overl. vellum, flat spine titled in ink, mod. ties and flyleaves (minor spotting).

Only edition in roman type and second revised edition attributed to Clément Marot (1496-1544) of one of the most popular works of medieval French literature. Text complete and ill. with numerous wooducts. The title and the introduction, in the first quire, are missing. The choice of the format 8vo and roman type, atypical for an ed. of a medieval text, can be explained by Galliot du Pré's wish to inscribe this text into the modernity of 16th c. literature.
