Cesare Dell' Acqua (1821-1905), was a Belgian painter known for his works representing important historical events and Orientalism. Between 1852 and 1877 he completed a number of commissioned works in Trieste which established his reputation as a painter. In Brussels the works he exhibited enjoyed a very favourable response and he received commissions from prominent families in Brussels, such as Errera, van Wambecke and van der Elst. 1. Oriental man wearing a turban. Graphite, 16,4 x 10 cm, signed and dated in pencil at lower right corner "D.A. 11.Mai 1894".-- 2. Woman in Oriental clothing. Graphite, heightened with brown gouache, 15,1 x 9,6 cm, signed and dated in pencil at lower right corner "D.A. 14.Mai 1883".-- 3. An Oriental market square. Graphite pencil, 9,6 x 15 cm, signed and dated in pencil at lower right corner "D.A. 11.Juillet 1885".
