Very rare reprint (1st Ghent 1601) of this devotional work on Purgatory by the Ghent Benedictine monk C.C. Vrancx (Dendermonde 1530-1615 Ghent). Although the title mentions "Voor I.B. naar de copye/ Ghedruckt te Ghendt. By Gaultier Manilius [...]. Anno 1601.", it's an exact reprint of the 1607 Bruges ed. (BB). At the end, the 2 approbations of the 1601 and 1607 ed. Vrancx was elected abbot of the Ghent St Peter's Abbey in 1597. Woodcut IHS mark on title. Printed in gothic type.
