3 vol., obl. 4to: 2 engr. titles, portr. of the Princess of Orange, one fold. map and 203 engr. pl. (pl. 107 & 126 underl., some large stains at the end of the text vol., some sm. spotting in the plate vol., larger stain on pl. 22 & 23).

Contemp. red long grained morocco (corners rubbed and bumped), plate vol. with gilt decor. border on covers (somewhat soiled and scratched), text vol. with paper on covers (some sm. scratches), gilt orn. flat spines (joints, heads and tails sl. def.; restored for the 2nd plate vol.), a.e.g., marbled endpapers.

First edition of the text written by J.-J. De Cloet (Bruges 1790-Freyr 1855) and first issue of the 203 plates (two plates numb. 54) lithographed a.o. by Jean-Baptiste Madou, after the drawings of Otto van der Howen, B. Mary, T. Hubert, A. de Marbaix; etc. figuring city views, monuments, landscapes, castles..., in Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. Complete copy of the 2 lithogr. titles by H.A Kreins, the portrait of the Princess of Orange by Prevost and of the fold. map with borders coloured.
